In the Spring of 2019, I had the incredible opportunity to study abroad at SCAD Lacoste. Throughout this amazing journey, I studied the history of Provence and was submerged (sometimes quite literally) into the sustainable and eco-friendly practices of natural dyes. This sweet country side happens to be one of the most color savy and fibers-filled regions of France! Many hours were spent with stained hands, experiementing with the many aspects of this new medium. Our class took multiple field trips to the Provencal cities that have contributed to the world of fibers for centuries -- Lyon, Rousillon, Apt, Avignon, and the Natural Dye Garden in Lauris.
