Flowers Are to Be Worn is a ten piece, hand embellished hair barrette collection. Each barrette is made with silk velvet fabric and is naturally dyed with cochineal, turmeric, madder, and indigo. The shape of the flower is outlined by free motion embroidery made by a sewing machine. Each flower was then hand embellished with a couched center and with beaded or sequined accent. The flowers have a complimentary colored velvet backing attached by beaded brick stitch and finished with a barrette clip.
